Lamhaa is a new Hindi movie of Bollywood starring Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu. Lamhaa movie is set in Kashmir and it has a story about an army officer. Lamhaa: The Untold Story of Kashmir releases on July 16, 2010 in Indian cinemas.

Official website of Lamhaa 2010 film - www.lamhaa.com writes about the movie synopsis, “Kashmir, What was once known as the paradise on earth is turning into the biggest playground of Devils. The forces, the militia and everyone in between are involved. Vikram a retired Para commando, India’s best sniper, is sent into the Valley to eliminate the man controlling this Mayhem – Pasha. Little does Vikram know that what would be an in and out operation will change his life and that of the Kashmiri’s forever.

Pasha’s OGN (On Ground Network) is extremely strong. Every one seems to be an informant. From the local Kebab Walla, to the telephone retailer to even a colonel of the Indian Army. To crack this he unites with Aziza, a girl who works for Haji’s organization and fighting for the freedom of Kashmir, when they are seemingly by chance thrown together into crossfire between militants and the army. The intensity of their beliefs and their will to survive all odds creates a special bond between them. Soon they find themselves embarking together on a journey full of intrigue, suspicion and bloody betrayal to the northern parts of Kashmir.

In such a scenario are the bullet and the bomb the only answers that the people can provide? Will wisdom prevail in this valley of flowers, so that the common Kashmiris are not crucified in the crossfire of politics? Will they survive to find the heaven on earth they are looking for? Hope is what is the basis of politics? Will they survive to find the heaven on earth they are looking for? Hope is what is the basis of the existence of Kashmir.”

Sanjay Dutt as Vikram, Kunal Kapoor as Atif, Bipasha Basu as Aziza, Anupam Kher as Haji, Shernaz Patel as Parveena, Yashpal Sharma as Rauf, Vipin sharma as Colonel Kapoor, Rajesh Khera as Parvez, Vishwajeet Pradhan as Daljeet, Murli Sharma as Dhruv Raina and Jyoti Dogra as Badi Bi are the leading casts of Lamhaa Hindi film.

Director of Lamhaa film, Rahul Dholakia writes his experience on the official website about a chatting of a group of students who had come from Kashmir, “They said it is a like a beautiful prison. And that intrigued me more. I said what do you mean it’s a beautiful prison? They said, people say that Kashmir is Jannat but the fact is that everyday for the last eighteen years of our lives we have been searched, asked for ID cards. There has not been a single day when we have gone from our home to college without being searched. Our emails are intercepted; there are so much security forces on the streets. So we almost feel like we are in a prison and that is why we call it the beautiful prison.”

Lamhaa the untold story of Kashmir is set in the heaven on the Earth. It is a story of a beautiful prison. The movie tries to share many aspect of Kasmir and Kashmiri’s life. Lamhaa movie is based on the battleground of the paradise. There are war, politics, violation, betrayal, hope and movement in the valley of flowers.

Lamhaa is not the first movie which is based on Kasmir but the film has humanistic approach. The movie has tried to introduce the best aspect of humanistic approach like Red Alert: the War Within.
